>From what you write here and in your other mail I conclude you may
be misunderstanding how modifiers work in bindings. With "SM" the
binding is activated if the key is pressed with both modifiers
held.  It does *not* work if only one of them is held.

If that's not your problem, run

  $ xmodmap

and check whether your modifiers are actually bound to keys.  If
you don't understand the output, post it to the list.
