What has the console font to do with the X-Window-System ?

Maybe you need in .fvwmrc somting like:

  ____ ( '/home/michelle/.fvwm/.fvwmrc' ) ______________________________
 /
|  Style * Font         -*-helvetica-medium-r-*-*-14-*-*-*-*-*-iso10646-1
|  Style * IconFont     -*-helvetica-medium-r-*-*-10-*-*-*-*-*-iso10646-1
 \______________________________________________________________________
