You're probably better off ditching the SMTP resources altogether and instead run a DMZ SMTP server with Postfix, Exim, etc. I've had nothing but problems with the SMTP Security Server (with 4.1 up to AI) and no problems with Postfix. Other SMTP servers are much more flexible as well.
