We just went into production with Checkpoint NG FP3 on a Solaris 2.8 UltraSparc 420. We also have the VPN II accelerator card installed on the firewall. Today I have noticed that the fwssd is dumping core. The following appears on the console and in /var/adm/messages: Nov 10 14:04:15 camelot genunix: NOTICE: core_log: fwssd[12791] core dumped: /var/core/core.fwssd.12791.camelot.0.0.1068491052 Nov 10 14:04:22 camelot genunix: NOTICE: core_log: fwssd[12910] core dumped: /var/core/core.fwssd.12910.camelot.0.0.1068491061 Nov 10 14:04:28 camelot genunix: NOTICE: core_log: fwssd[12911] core dumped: /var/core/core.fwssd.12911.camelot.0.0.1068491067 The firewall has been in production since Friday night and this message started appearing after 5am this morning (Mon Nov 10, 2003) and has appeared 4 times so far. The configuration is fairly simple (on static nat for a DMZ box and we use TrendMicro's Interscan Viruswall in CVP mode). Firewall logs don't seem to show any unusual activities at the time these core dump messages are seen. Have any run into this? If so, could someone assist me in trying to resolve this problem?
