Hi, are the NICs up when you try to install the rulebase or you try to get the Topology from the Interfaces? A "speciality" of Win2k is that the NICs will be shot down when no link is available. So CP can't find the NIC. So try to get a link on every NIC... Maybe a quite dumb question: After installing the FireWall-1, you have rebooted your system? The license is ok? Hope it helps, best regards, Matthias http://www.fw-1.de

Hello,
ich have a Problem with our Checkpoint FW1 on Windows 2000 Advanced Server.
I have 2 NIC's. One Nic is external and one is internal. FW1, Management Module, and Policy Editor are installed/running on a Client.
I am having the following issues:
1) When attempting to install the policy on the server I receive the following error message:
Standard.W: Security Policy Script generated into Standard.pf Compiled OK.
Downloading Security Policy C:\WINNT\FW1\4.1\conf\Standard.pf to localhost(FireWall) Downloading on localhost(FireWall) succeeded
Installing Security Policy Standard on [EMAIL PROTECTED] Unable to open '\Device\FW1': The system cannot find the file specified.. Failed to get interface list: The system cannot find the file specified. Has only loopback (lo) interface, aborting... Failed to Load Security Policy: Das The system cannot find the file specified. Installing Security Policy on localhost(FireWall) failed
2) When attempting to "get" interface information from the interface properties tab of the policy editor I receive the following error:
Failed to get interfaces from [ip address]
What can i do?
Thank you for the Help!
Best regards
Sebastian
