Hi, I have to upgrade our current FW-1 installation. Now I would like to hear your thoughts on my first draw-up of a possible future setup.
Currently I run a Nokia IP530 IPSO 3.7 with FW-1 NG AI R54. To my Nokia box I have added an extra 4 port NIC where I at the moment use 2 but have plans for the remaining 2. That's a total of 8 ports I use. In my new setup HA is at priority and from my internal net to the Internet I have to firewall a 1Gbit/s link at wire speed. I'm thinking of SecurePlatform on 2 identical 1U servers with HW RAID 0 on the disks, dual Xeon 2.4 GHz, 1 GB RAM, 2 internal 1 Gbit/s NIC's and 2 Intel/Pro 1000MT Quad Port NIC (maybe 1 Inetl/Pro 1000MT Quad Port and 1 Dual Port) Currently I'm looking at a HP ProLiant DL 360 and a DELL PowerEdge 1750 both with the above HW installed. On the servers I will install SecurePlatform NG AI R55, Performance Pack and Cluster XL (In HA mode). Have anyone any idea if this setup will be able to firewall 1Gbit/s between 2 of the ports? (all the other port will run at a max of 100Mbit/s and is not very load heavy) There is not going to be full load all the time but it must be able go wire speed for long periods of time. For now lets say that the maximum is going full load for 48 hours. I want to be able to have this load and not affect the traffic to the other ports. I like the SecurePlatform setup, but is my goal possible with this setup or do I need something else/more. Any feedback is appreciated All the best Ole Jakobsen ================================================= To set vacation, Out-Of-Office, or away messages, send an email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] in the BODY of the email add: set fw-1-mailinglist nomail ================================================= To unsubscribe from this mailing list, please see the instructions at http://www.checkpoint.com/services/mailing.html ================================================= If you have any questions on how to change your subscription options, email [EMAIL PROTECTED] =================================================
