I think using desktop policies is a good idea.
Given what you explained, I would try to change the desktop's value from
[EMAIL PROTECTED] to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Actually, what I think remember is that "All_users" rules are used when no
VPN is up (rules when the user is not connected with VPN) as "VPN_user"
rules (=your VPN user group or a group user) are used only when a VPN is up
(rules applied to desktop when the user is connected to the gateway with
VPN).
