This is not a problem/limitation of SecureClient but of Windows 9x. Windows
9x will never ask you for a username. In fact when mapping a drive you do
not have the "Connect using a different user name" option you would find on
a WinNT/2k/XP client. The username/password you enter on boot/login of a
Win9x client is what is used to connect to network shares. So with that
said, login to the 9x client with a username/password that has permissions
to connect to these network shares. You don't need to have the same password
as you have found, but you will need to have the same username, or logout of
Win9x and login back in as a different user to connect to a share that
requires different credentials.

Subject: [FW-1] Secure Client Win98 - mapping drives
Quick question for you guys, I am running a machine with secure client on
windows 98, however unlike 2000,XP,NT, when you map a drive it does not ask
you for a username and password (and domain), instead it just asks for a
password, which obviously is not enough and so fails. So basically i cant
map a drive. Ive tried adding a domain logon to the "client for microsoft
networks" settings but to no avail. Due to the resource by resource
authentication nature of secure client is there any way of getting this to
work, everything else is fine but mapping drives is my only problem.
Ive not tried SSO yet, will that work or would i be wasting my time
cheers
Gary
