Dear members
Hi I am new to this list and have just installed Checkpoint in a distributed
application. The Smart Center Server is on a Windows 2000 SP3 machine (Checkpoint
version : NG with AI R54), my enforcement module is a Nortel Alteon 5105 running
Checkpoint NG FP3.
I obtained a central license from the Checkpoint user center and installed it from
Smart update on the Smart Center server. Both licenses (module and management server)
were successfully installed.
When I try to install a policy from the management server to the enforcement module,
the installation fails because of the following error :
"Too many VPN-1/FireWall-1 Modules (5) in Network Objects: License is only for 3 FireWall
Modules"
I contacted Checkpoint as I assumed there was an error in the licensing - they replied
that this problem is not license related. I have no idea what to do. The management
server and the module are communicating - there is no problem with connectivity.
Please help.
Thank you and regards
Shiroma

Hi, do you have one SmartCenter and one Enforcement only? Then, this message shouldn't appear. Usually it shows up, if you have an Express license for 100/250 users and 3 Enforcement Modules to be managed from your SmartCenter and you want to install the security policy on more than three Enforcement Modules. - Do you have more than three Enforcement Modules (Firewalls) defined in SmartDashboard? - What is the license string like? E.g. CPXP-SC... If you need to manage more Enforcement Modules, you can obtain an additional license for e.g. managing two more Enforcement Points (e.g. CPXP-SXA-2-NG). Hope it helps, best regards, Matthias http://www.fw-1.de -- AERAsec Network Services and Security GmbH Wagenberger Strasse 1 D-85662 Hohenbrunn, Germany http://www.aerasec.de
