Rather than burden my log server for too long, I take "yesterdays" logs by exporting 
them, and importing them into a database (access works well for this).. then I can 
play with the data to my hearts content.

I've eradicated a few virus laden hosts this way, which had the fun effect of reducing 
the number of sessions logged (since there were far less of them!) - which made the 
next log export that much quicker.
