Hi,

You really should specify the FQDN when you install the OS. However,
you can "fix" it by putting the FQDN in /etc/nodename *and* fixing
/etc/hosts so that the entry for your machine reads, for example:

#<ip>                   <fqdn>          <hostname>
192.168.1.1             myhost.mydomain myhost
