I had a firewall running Check Point NG FP 3 on Red Hat 7.3 that failed. I
was not in the office and I received a report that Internet connectivity had
been lost. It was verified that it was not a network issue. When they
looked at the firewall the screen was blank and was not responding. Since
nobody that was in the office had remote access to the box, I had them
perform a reboot of the firewall. This worked and Internet connectivity was
restored.

When looking at the Check Point logs I noticed at the time the firewall that
was supposedly not working that packets passing through the firewall were
still being inspected by the firewall rule base (they just weren't being
routed??). My question is what specific other logs should I be looking at
(linux/checkpoint) that could give me an idea what failed? Also have any of
you had NG running on Linux fail before? Thanks!
