I tried vrrpd a little over a year ago with CP NG FP1 on Linux. This was on the Compaq SolutionPaq, which I believe was based on Redhat Linux 6.2 (though I could be mistaken). Although setting it up was a no-brainer, once I got around to failover testing there were a lot of problems with out-of-state packets in spite of the fact that state sync was enabled between two firewalls over a dedicated cross-connect.
Since then, we've moved to SecurePlatform and use Alteon AD3 switches to perform the failover functions.

Hello,
Has anyone had any success on running a third party vrrp daemon on a linux platform running NG-R55, or on splat NG R55 ? I know vrrp is supported on nokia boxes, but im looking at intel hardware with splat here most likely.
Im want to hav some redundancy, but CP HA doesnt do exactly what I want, namely have two external interfaces and run OSPF across to advertise routes and take care of failover.
cheers
