I am seeing regular traffic being dropped by my anti spoofing coming from my firewall to localhost on port 1024 tcp. Port searches turns up KDM (KDE display manager) which is an X11 implementation AFAIK being the known service to use 1024. I am finding nothing running on my box (Solaris 9)that should be generating traffic to 1024. It appears that snoop will not see the loopback interface so I am not sure how to narrow down what is generating this traffic. Anyone see something like this and suggestions as to where to look?
