Hi Curtis,

Just a suggestion, but if your going to go to a *nix platform, the best
choice would be to use SPLAT. I'm sure many others would agree. Unless of
course you have a specific reason to use BSD. SPLAT is a trimmed down
version of Linux that is hardened, and setup to work specifically with CP.

I made the switch from a Nokia/IPSO platform to splat, and haven't had one
issue yet. The best part about it is you can use pretty much any x86
platform to run it. Here's a link to the verified hardware it runs on, but
I have mine running on a DELL Dimension 340 with a couple extra NIC's.

I too am using a very simplistic FW, and it can be up and running with your
first policy push in as little as about 20 mins.

Good Luck!

Subject: [FW-1] OpenBSD?

We have a management station using R55 HF08 on win2003.

We have a very simple firewall setup. Was just wondering if anyone was using
OpenBSD as a firewall solution.
Is it to hard to maintain? Other major problems?

thanks,
