Hi,

in order to properly operate R55W you need a valid WebDefense license. A SmartDefense 
license is not enough, or only enough to operate the basic SmartDefense options. We 
stumbled across the same problem and will go back to R55 because of that.

We talked to Checkpoint customer advocacy and they eplained that any current and 
future version that carries the W in the name (just like R55W) is especially designed 
to operate the WebDefense features, and to operate those, you need a propper license. 
The sole and only purpose of thw W-releases is just WebDefense. There are no other 
differences to the non-W versions.

So if you don't have WebDefense licenses, you are better off with the "plain" R55 
release.
