Yeah, this happens when I'm connected from home via SecureClient instead of at work. What I see is that my home copy of SmartDashboard is trying to go to the Internet from my home computer. My guess is it's trying to update SmartDefense on my home network, which is not where it is.
This also will happen if you run through a proxy server that requires credentials, because there's no way to input credentials into SmartDefense. I had to set a rule to allow the SmartCenter box to bypass the proxy server.

I get this error
Failed to update SmartDefense
Web server Error.
Any one ever see this one?
Nokia and Checkpoint seem to know less than I do about Smart Defense.
