Gauntlet was sold to Secure Computing. Secure Computing released gauntlet
6.0. After that
what was left of gauntlet was put into Sidewinder G2. I too was a fan of
Gauntlet. After
gauntlet was bought, gauntlet users went to Raptor[another proxy firewall]
as far as I can tell.
At the time Raptor ran on all the platforms gauntlet used to support except
for BSDI. Secure Computing ran a secured intel BSD derivative. This meant
no sparc Solaris, no hpux, no Windows, no[fortune 500] customers.

I appologize in advance for getting nostalgic.
