I use both. The ghost image takes about half an hour to create and
about 15 minutes to restore. This depends, of course, on the size and
number of your log files.

Are you using imaging as your only source for backups or are you
including the SPLAT backup and restore also?

My firewall configuration changes very seldom so maybe just an
occasional image will be enough.

John

I've used Ghost to backup and restore my SPLAT box a number of times and
it works great.

Hello,

Nokia: Use the backup command from Voyager.
WIN: Use the export tool to take out al the files you need and do a
ghost of the system. Have never tried restore a ghost with Check Point
installed. It maybe works as well.

Regards

Leif

Subject: [FW-1] Saving entire configuration for disaster recovery

Hi There

Im sure this question has been asked before but I just need some
clarification

I am running 2x Nokia ip350 in HA with a windows 2000 management station

Which files/directories on the management station (and /or) the nokia
boxes, do I need to backup to ensure that in a worst case scenario (ie
the building blows up) I can rebuild the entire configuration, with the
rule base policies, the objects, the secure client and VPN setup and on
the nokia side, all config including routes ipso config etc etc, you get
the general idea ...

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated
