We did not use any of the tools. Very often, the new platform has new/different/updates features. You don't want to create the problems with incompatibility from the beginning (it could be the NAT rules that don't work the same way as before, and many other problems). Saving 1-2 hrs on re-creating the policy and database may create many-days headache with weird problems. I'd suggest completely pure install and re-entering your policies/database. Make sure you understand the new platform functionality.
The other folks might have a different opinion, but my experience shows that it is the right way to migrate. Best regards, Roman M.
