I never could get a feel for how the R55 version worked because I never
could get it to work. The log consolidator would crash if the reporter
server was on a different subnet from the management server. The same thing
happened with the R56 version but we were able to get Check Point some good
debug information during the beta and they figured out the issue. It's been
purring along like a kitten ever since.

I would think that the biggest issue with moving from R55 or earlier is that
there is no migration path from earlier versions (that I know of). The new
system uses MySql for the database and it's blazingly fast in generating
reports.

My production server for the Reporter is still R55, I could not figure out
what Brad version was, I have not tested R56 Reporter version yet. I may
test the R56 version too.

The R56 version is no longer controlled by SmartDashboard. All of its
configuration is done in the new client.
