Yep, thanks a lot too.
Finally, your last question ask about the ability of getting
informations from only
one module (which interest me very much too).
My last question will be about the way of getting the FW module
hostname ??
Thx in adv.
We all stand slightly corrected. The fw tab command can be run on a
management console, however when you specify a hostname this hostname
must be that of a FW module. Even if the fw tab command is run on a FW
with the "hostname" or IP of a defined non-fw module object you will
still get "unknown host".
Check out the CLI guide included in the r-55 doc bundle.
No it is not you're English that needs improving, it is the translation
that CP provides that needs a little work.
CP has refereed to this as "hostname", "module" and "target".
Does anyone know a command that shows only specific host connections? I
am not aware of any that will do this. The only way I have seen this is
through smartview reporter.

Well,
I'm a little lost as after reading carefuly the following page:
http://fwplat.sf.net/install.html
the 'fw tab' command is run from tha management station.
Am I right or should I start improving my english knowledge...
;)
Thanks in advance.
Quite. You can't run fw tab from a SmartCenter Server and query a
module.
It queries the _local_ tables, so it has to be run from the enforcement
point that you wish to see the tables on.

I respectfully disagree with you...
if we use your logic than we should be able to execute the command from
anywhere..."I mean anywhere" including a PC that does not have any FW
application installed.
[-y] [hostname] option is for to list only a specific host....instead of
the
complete list

I don't think so because
$> fw tab -h
$> Usage: fw tab [-t <table>] [-s | -c] [-f] [-o <filename>]
[-r]
[-u | -m <maxvals>] [[-x | -a] -e entry] [-y] [hostname]
$>
So it definitely says we can give a 'station'.
I'm trying to make some stats on connections and would like to
let
the firewall with no extra packages or
extra processe running on, so that's why I'am trying this from
the
management station.
BTW, the CommandLineInterface.pdf documentation says that
hostname
could be a hostname or an IP.
Does somebody where can we find more information about those
command, because CP doc is not really
usefull now
Thx

That is a command that can only be executed on the Firewall module and
not
on the Management server....possible?

The connection tables are at the FW not the MC.

Subject: [FW-1] fw tab error
Hello,
Let's me explain my problem :
My Management station is located at: 192.168.2.2/24.
My Firewall station is located at: 192.168.2.12/24.
Both station can communicate because any communication
is authorized between the management and the firewall station.
Unfortunately the following command failed from the management
station:
$> fw tab -t connection -s short 192.168.2.12
The error is: 'Unknow host: 192.168.2.12'
Can somebody explain me what the error is ??
BTW, this command works from the Firewall station.
Thanks in advance.
