A lot of times the cause of the error message you described, is caused because
the management server is out of disk space. Check the available disk space on
the management server, if it's close to capacity, clear out some of the CP logs
and then try your connection again.

Subject: Re: [FW-1] Having problems to connect Smartdashboard

I just had this problem trying to set up a stand by firewall. In my case the
internal interface address on the gateway was different than what I set it to
be in the web admin. I had to...

Go to the local console and login
Type "fwm unload 'your gateway name'"
Go back to smart dashboard and login
Check the internal network address in the gateway properties (under topology)
If it's not the same as the address you specified when trying to log into smart
dashboard then change it to that address.

There might be a better way but this was how I did it.

Subject: [FW-1] Having problems to connect Smartdashboard

Hello, Im having problem to connect the SmartDashBoard
to the SmartCenter. This is the message that appear:
"Connection cannot be initiated.
Please make sure that the Server "192.168.0.3" ia up
and running and that you are defined as a GUI Client."

I was connecting and now I cant do it. I am defined
as a GUI Client and the network configurations are ok.

Does anyone know what I can do?

Thanks,

Notari
