i even did the manual upgrade from FP3 to R54.  i knew
of all the upgrade tools, heard the success stories of
doing it, and the lack of problems as a result.  i was
fortunate to have new hardware for my mgmt station
which i installed splat.  i also had a third fw that i
could test pushes.  in the long run the exercise helped
me get a grasp of the policy and to weed out anything
that was stale or just stupid.
