No, Edge's must be in a simplified policy. One option might be to create a
separate policy for the Edge devices and leave the main one as traditional.
I don't know if that's possible.

Subject: [FW-1] NGAI-R55 and Edge X-32

Hi,

I want to configure VPN1 Edge units to be managed centrally using
SmartCenter, however I do not want to use the Traditional Method (not
simplified). The first rule implemented in my ruleset is

Rule Src Dst
Service Action
           firewall-r55 vpn1-edge
1 vpn1-edge firewall-r55
IKE accept

However, when I put in the edge object as a source object it disappears
from the list objects that can be inserted into the destination. Is
there a way of achieving this using the traditional method.

The firewall is running NGAI R55 HFA13 and the edge units are running
the lastest firmware.
