If you look at the server properties with the Object List window you will
see a column that says "match to Any". The protocols that are marked No do
not match for any, this also includes X11.

Thanks, this was just temporary retardation.
I created a protocol for TCP/135 (none existed!) and added that to my
rule and everything worked fine.
So, does "Any" protocol mean "Any defined protocol"?
Any idea where "epmap" is coming from?
Thanks!
Ben

Check SmartDefense, there's some RPC checks in there specific to DCOM.

Subject: [FW-1] Windows COM+ communication
Hi,
I am trying to get Microsoft COM+ communication through a
SecurePlatform CheckPoint NG-R55. I enabled "Any" traffic and this is
still getting rejected:
Number: 253276
Date: 7Apr2005
Time: 10:49:03
Product: VPN-1 & FireWall-1
Interface: eth1
Origin: STCFW1
Type: Alert
Action: Reject
Protocol: tcp
Service: epmap (135)
Source: STCDMZWEB1
Destination: STCINETAPP1
Rule: 998
Source Port: 1119
I do not have a rule 998! Any idea where this is coming from?
I can map drives with no problem.
Thanks,
Ben
