Yep it's weird behavior. If I export view in .csv file I'm getting the information in nice readable format, but this can be done for 10min. of data only. I can not export my one day of data .rec file and it's definitely not readable in excel. What version of CP are you running? I'm on R55 HFA13.

The .rec file, as I said before, is intuitively viewable in excel. I have renamed the .rec files as .csv and have opened them fine with a little change in the format but data is viewable. I presume the behavior is the same in your case even for smaller files, is it? And you have tried renaming the .rec to .csv manually to open with excel? Is the behavior seen only for this one file or whatever you save? For example, if you try to export view of a session, do you get the option to save a .csv or txt file? What version of SVM are you running? And when you log in to SVM, you are logged in as read/write admin? I shall reserach more on making your file readable but if you can let me know the answers to general behavior of SVM files, it will be helpful. I have a custom session which records every 10s the concurrent connections to particular IP address on one of my firewalls. I run it over 8hs period and I record all the data. This creates .rec on my desktop which is not readable on excel. When I try to play this file with SVM, the export view option is gray. Is there any other way I can export in excel this file. > > Thanks Kiril > > > -----Original Message----- > From: Mailing list for discussion of Firewall-1 [mailto: [EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Rajeev Gupta > Sent: April 8, 2005 9:41 AM > To: [email protected] > Subject: Re: [FW-1] Smart View Monitor export to excel > > I have used SVM and the files can be saved as excel files in any case. > When you record traffic for example, it will first save the file which > is an excel file.
