Is there a reason you are recommending the upgrade_export utility instead
of the actual backup utility?

Don't forget about routes and static ARPs (if any) at the OS level
that will be affected by the IP change. You will have to explicitly
change the firewall object's IP in the general properties and in the
interfaces tab. Also, objects that are statically-natted are often
overlooked.

Use the upgrade_export utility to backup the Check Point config, then
FTP it off of the box. This can probably be scripted on the Alteon.
Not sure how to backup the OS on the Alteon.
