Hi,
Can you please suggest the type of backup required for Checkpoint
Firewall (Enforcement module) running on SecurePlatform OS?
It should take the backup of interfaces, routing and system information.
backup -d -f <filename>
When it asks you if you want to proceed answer yes.
The d flag shows debug information
The f flag is the name of the backup file. I use the convention of the
name of the server plus the date. The backup script will automatically
gzip the file and add the tgz extension.
To restore:
restore -d -f <filename>
When it asks you if you want to proceed answer yes.
You'll get a menu screen giving you three choices:
[C] Continue (this will restore all)
[M] Modify (this allows you to change what to restore)
[Q] Quit
The restore options are:
cp: will restore the Checkpoint software.
system: will restore the operating system.
all: will restore both.
Look for the restore operation succeeded line for a successful restore.
