Yes, Fernando, I have asked about High Availability New Mode cluster for
2 Enforcement modules, not management.
I just thought that the name "High Availability New Mode cluster" is
self-explanatory because Management HA has no different modes.
Any tips and tricks on such migration process are still appreciated.

Hi:

About your question, I think you are talking about a Enforcement module
placed in a High avaliability configuracion.

It's important to clarify your question because Checkpoint have
several High
Availability schemas:

for the Enforcement modules:
High Availability Clusters (requires at least 2 Enforcement modules and a
SmartCenter Server **1 management**)

For the Management Server (requires at least 2 SmartCenter servers).

if your question is about the High availability clusters you need at
least 3
equipments (2 for the Enforcement modules and 1 for the management
server)
the hardware for your enforcement modules should be equivalent (my
reccomentation) because it needs to be of the SAME operating system
and MUST
have the same number of network interfaces. plus 2 (one for the
management
traffic and one for the sinchronization traffic)

take in mind that you need at least 3 ip addresses for each nerwork
you are
protecting (one for the 1st enforcement module, one for the 2th
enforcement
module, 1 for the virtual IP address )

check on the http://support.checkpoint.com site for more details about
High
availabilit configuration documents.
If you have no access to support site, check on the CD media
documentation,
there is a chapter dedicated to High Availability.

Hope this help

Subject: [FW-1] High Availability

Hi, Gurus.
Following my previous question on Smart Center, actually the aim is to
migrate from standalone installation (NG AI R55 HFA13) to High
Availability New Mode cluster.
Could you please share you experience. What are the things I should pay
special attention and what are the possible problems I may encounter?

Thanks in advance,
Andrey.
