Gurus of this group, please help. I am testing Provider-1 NG with AI R55w running on Solaris 9. Currently my configuration is as follows:
1) Primary Provider-1 Manager + Container is located on 192.168.1.0/24 network with the IP of the Primary P-1 is 192.168.1.1 2) Secondary Provider-1 Manager + Containter is located on 192.168.2.0/24 network with the IP of the Secondary P-1 is 192.168.2.1 3) Both of these networks are separated by a Cisco 3745 router. Routing is working fine so that 192.168.1.0/24 can get to 192.168.2.0/24 and vice-versa. Everything is wide-open between these two networks, 4) After installing the Primary and Secondary Provider-1, I "SIC" so that the Primary and Secondary Provider-1 can communicate with each other. Furthermore, I change the "checking time interval" from 300 seconds to 30 seconds, 5) I go ahead and create a Active CMA. After that I create a Standby CMA and everything seems to be fine at this point. However, after making the promoting the standy CMA to be Active, I am getting a lot of "Advanced", "lagging" and "Collision" between CMAs. I can tell you that latency is NOT an issue because the Solaris machines, the router and the cisco switch are within 10 feet of each other. Has anyone actually deployed Active/Standy CMA or SmartCenter in Active/Standby in a production environment? How does it work for you? Do you also run into "lagging", "Advanced" or "collision" between Active/Standby CMA or SmartCenters? I have serious reservation about rolling this out into a production environment? I remembered having similar issues with R55 with HFA_06 last year with Active/Standby CMA but didn't pursuit it any further. Please advise. Thanks. cisco4ng __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo!
