ATTENTION: DO NOT INSTALL ANYTHING 3rd PARTY DRIVERS/SOFTWARE ON SPLAT SERVER. Checkpoint will do just about anything to get itself out of supporting you if you install any 3rd party drivers or software on the SPLAT Server. To give you an example, I have two tickets opened with Checkpoint for the past five months (still pending). We have checkpoint Provider-1 NG FP3 running Solaris 9. Checkpoint certified our Solaris OS and approved it. However, when we run into problems, those same checkpoint bastards also tell me that it is an OS not Checkpoint problem even though they are checkpoint problems. You're in a much better shape than I am because Checkpoint supports both the OS and Checkpoint software on SPLAT. Hold checkpoint accountable when you have checkpoint problems. If you install 3rd party software/drivers, you void the support.

One of our gateways at out data center was not contact able, and when l went out l found that the hardware warning light was orange (healthy = green), and it was beeping intermittently. Normally l would check the HP health tools (HPASM driver) for the hardware status, however l was hesitant to install this package as l didn't know what potential issues may occur if l did. Has anyone installed the health driver on an HP SPLAT server? If so, what version? Anything special to watch out for? SPLAT is based on the Redhat 7.2 OS is it not?
