Hi all, Meanwhile in my experiments I modified the R55 system to the most simplified type in order to locate the problem.
Here is a simple drawing about the current network topology I experiment on (no internet connection). COMPUTER1 <------------> FW1 <---------> COMPUTER2 COMP-IP1 FW-IP1 FW-IP2 COMP-IP2 COMP-IP1 - 192.168.0.1 / 255.255.255.0 COMP-IP2 - 192.168.1.1 / 255.255.255.0 FW-IP1 - 192.168.0.213 / 255.255.255.0 FW-IP2 - 192.168.1.213 / 255.255.255.0 For Gateway IP's I set the FW-IP1 and FW-IP2 addresses on the computers on each side of the network segments. At this moment I didn't set any NAT on any network segments or computers. I tried to do some telnet on port 21 from COMPUTER2 to COMPUTER1 but I only succeeded when I telneted the FW-IP1 or COMP-IP1 (which were behind the FW1). As I experimented I realized that I was unable to telnet directly the FW-IP2 because my FW1 was set with FW-IP1 in the Checkpoint Management Station. I replaced the FW-IP1 with FW-IP2 and everything just worked perfectly. Probably I answered my previous posting with that little experiment of mine but I'm not sure about how to set my FW1 main IP address when I'm on a PPPOE / DSL connection with Dynamic IP. I can't have a static IP address at all. Please give me some advice about the correct parameters. Also a little help about the PPPOE adapter parameters would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Andrey P.s. I hope my drawing and the explanation is understandable. ================================================= To set vacation, Out-Of-Office, or away messages, send an email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] in the BODY of the email add: set fw-1-mailinglist nomail ================================================= To unsubscribe from this mailing list, please see the instructions at http://www.checkpoint.com/services/mailing.html ================================================= If you have any questions on how to change your subscription options, email [EMAIL PROTECTED] =================================================
