Quite interesting...I had the same problem the other day, it would get to loading objects right before loading rules and it failed.
I was able to change the objects_5_0.c file (I believe it was) to an older version that I managed to get to load, then went back to my backup of my current objects file and it loaded back and it resolved the issue. Not sure if it's coincidence, but a few days leading up to the crash, I had problems installing my policy to my cluster objects. Some would work, some wouldn't. After I backed up, restored old, restored current, it pushed policy just fine. I'm running on a Dell 2650 windows 2000 server as well. I've been running fine over the last few weeks with no apparent issues. I did install policy yesterday and it failed on one of my modules, and then a few hours later SVN foundation had an error (!) on my status monitor and I couldn't connect via SecuRemote to the module. I rebooted it, and today I've installed policy without any issues. I'm running about 400 objects and 169 rules. Not sure if that makes a diff. You're running Smartdashboard on windows 2000 Server or Windows 2000 Advanced Server right? Furthermore, you're running Microsoft Windows on a Dell machine. I did have this exact problem a year ago. I found out that there were some hardware defects with the Dell machine that I installed SmartDashboard. I replaced that dell box (Dimension T500) with another Dell Machine (Optiplex 110) and I never have problems since. By the way, on the dell machine that gave me problems, it does not matter whether I run Windows 2000 or XP. This was working the day before but it seems the console has got fed up today. I have reistalled the console, rebooted the server and still no joy has anyone got any ideas Regards, Jeremy Kaweesa ================================================= To set vacation, Out-Of-Office, or away messages, send an email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] in the BODY of the email add: set fw-1-mailinglist nomail ================================================= To unsubscribe from this mailing list, please see the instructions at http://www.checkpoint.com/services/mailing.html ================================================= If you have any questions on how to change your subscription options, email [EMAIL PROTECTED] ================================================= ________________________________ Yahoo!
