Hi, I wouldn't say that dedicated Web app firewalls are slower based on personal experience, SmartDefense/Web Intelligence is good, but there are cost effective and more functional products available. Take a look at the NC-1000/2000 at http:// www.netcontinuum.com . It offers Load Balancing, SSL acceleration and Full HTTP/S termination and inspection etc. It is NOT a linux based appliance as per many other 'Web Application Firewalls'
