http://www.checkpoint.com/services/education/news/index.html says the NG AI
tests will be available until August 2006. You cannot go from an AI CCSA to
an NGX CCSE, so you might as well go for the NGX CCSA.
I don't know anyone who has taken the NGX tests yet. If Check Point would
_extend_ my benefits period when I take a new certification instead of
making me start over, I would take the NGX tests sooner. I lost eleven
months of CCSA benefits when I took the CCSE. As it is, I've got about
fifteen months left on my CCSE and since these costs come out of my pocket,
I'm not inclined to upgrade just for my ego's sake. :-)

Subject: [FW-1] Certification Tests
Date: Tue, 11 Oct 2005 13:36:51 -0400
Hello,
About 14 months ago I received my CCSA (Check Point Certified
Security Administrator NGAI).
So that's expired now. I assume there is no "renewal", I just take
the exam again?
It looks like NG AI courses are still available. Do you know how much
longer they will be? How much different is the NGX courses (in other
words, how much content is NGX specific, versus general VPN/FW)?
Thanks
Shane
