Also ensure the NIC is connected ie port is up.

While restoring a mgmt / fw make sure ip and hostname of system should

That's the best way of backing up and restoring the Backup.

Has any one  using the new upgrade_export on NGX HFA01, there seems some
issue is restoring this back-up. Has any one found any fix ?

If you'd like to backup checkpoint configuration (e.g. rules) you could
script a daily (or
nightly) upgrade_export on your management server and copy it elsewhere.
In case your management
would crash you could easily import it without any loss...
