Jason, Why not just build a Linux Server? Linux Server comes with SSH Server and you can do just about anything with scp, regardless of file size. Furthermore, Linux is FREE and it comes with a lot of utilities that you can use like backing up your SPLAT nightly to this linux ssh Server. You will be glad that you do it.
-- I completely agree with these statements from cisco4ng, however if Jason doesn't know how to use scp to transfer files, building a Linux box may be out of the question. I have seen the ftp client do funny things with files larger than 2GB and the only way to get around that was to use scp or attempt a transfer of a smaller file. To obtain a smaller file, assuming a recent version of splat, would be to use the upgrade_export utility as a backup methodology. Generally you will not have large amounts of routes/interfaces to keep up with on the management server. This allows you to simply know the machine name and IP address to resurrect a failed management server. In recent versions the upgrade_export/import process can be used to move/upgrade a management server to another machine, but if you think about it, you can use it to restore a failed machine as well. Simply use the upgrade export utility to get a valid backup and then archive them. When it comes time to restore the machine, install splat and the management server (match the current configuration) and then perform an upgrade_import. Within an hour your management server is back up and running with no need to re-establish SIC. I wrote a script to check if someone had the GUI open (upgrade_exports aren't supported if a database lock is in effect) with cpstat mg and perform a cpstop if someone has it open. Then I perform the upgrade_export to a file with the current date as the name. Archive these and you're good to go. Don't forget that these backups are the keys to the kingdom so safeguard them.
