Hi Experts,
I have set up an enforcement server to be the primary firewall for our
firewall cluster. According to RainWall FAQ as stated below
"By itself, RainWall does not require Check Point state synchronization.
However, RainWall features that leverage the state synchronization, such
as transparent fail-over and VIP-based load balancing, will not function
without it. If you turn off the state synchronization, automatic
fail-over will occur but existing connections will be broken. Without
the state synchronization, you can still dynamically load balance using
the per-connection method. Rainfinity recommends enabling state
synchronization."
I have not yet enable the state synchronization on my primary
enforcement server as I want it to be online first before getting
another machine as a secondary enforcement. Am I still able to install
RainWall and made it online without requiring another machine (at this
moment) to make it into a cluster ? This is only a temporary set up
until we received another same spec's machine as a secondary
enforcement. I'm intend to activate the state synchronization later when
both are properly configured.
Thanks in advance for all your reply.
Regards,
Alex Simbun
