Hi, I known two ways of adding "SmartView Monitor" component on an enforcement modules. 1) Start SmartUpdate on the SmartCenter server (you need the right license to use it), Add SmartView Monitor component on the Product Repository (get from the Checkpoint CD you have), then Add from Product Repository to each Firewall module (the first, then it reboots, then the second one, if you don't want interruption on activity's cluster Firewall) 2) Log on the console of each Firewall (or with SSH), lauch sysconfig, select "Product Installation", then marck SmartView Monitor's box then Next. After this is completed, reboot the Firewall module (I'm not sure it's needed, but ...), then lauch SmartUpdate on the SmartCenter server, and do "Get Check Point Gateway Data" on each Firewall module.
At the end, mark (if it isn't already done automatically) "SmartView Monitor" on the cluster Firewall object's properties, go to the SmartView Monitor 'menu' inside cluster Firewall object's properties, and mark informations you want to be analysed by SmartView Monitor. Hope it is clear, Fabrice Barutel ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 20 Mar 2006 23:53:39 +0800 From: Alexander Simbun <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: Re: SmartView Monitor on enforcement. Another question, I have one management server which manage a firewall cluster. Currently both enforcement servers in the cluster are installed using standard installation (i.e., VPN-1 & FW-1) while SmartCenter is installed at management server. I'm still not sure on how to proceed with SmartView Monitor set up, do I need to install SmartView Monitor on each enforcement servers on top of existing VPN-1 & FW-1 firewall module including at SmartCenter server? My concern is I'm reluctant to do re-installation on enforcement servers to include just the SmartView Monitor functionality. This is my first time to set up SmartView Monitor so I need some good guide about this. Thanks very much.
