If Nokia says "huh?" and the docs are silent, ask your people for the
documentation that says yes. We're talking about a firewall here, not some
home print server.
I would highly doubt that it is supported. In fact, I would not be surprised
to see NG FP3 and earlier go unsupported soon. Check Point doesn't even list
FP1 on their software subscription download page any more. When you select
FP3, only IPSO 3.5, 3.5.1 and 3.6 are listed as available versions.
The release notes for FP3 HFA326 do not mention specific IPSO versions. Do
you have docs that say IPSO 4.1 is supported by Check Point when running FP3
HFA 325? Just because it doesn't generate any errors during the installation
doesn't mean it will work as designed. If there's a breach for any reason
and your company is running mismatched versions, heads will roll even if the
version mismatch wasn't the cause.

Subject: [FW-1] I need help ASAP regarding IPSO 4.1 build 016 and NG
Feature Pack 3
Date: Wed, 20 Sep 2006 08:24:50 -0700
Hi Guys,
My company product engineer people tell me that Nokia supports running
NG Feature
Pack 3 with HFA_325 on IPSO 4.1 build 016.
However, I've been spent the past week reading Nokia IPSO 4.1 build 016
release
notes and I can NOT find anywhere in the documentation that IPSO 4.1
build 16 will
support Checkpoint NG Feature Pack 3. The IPSO 4.1 release notes
specifically
referred to Checkpoint NGx R60 or R61. It says nothing about NG Feature
Pack 3 on
IPSO 4.1 build 16. I called Nokia TAC and they said that they don't
know anything
about this either.
I can install NG Feature Pack 3 with HFA_325 on IPSO 4.1 but it does not
mean
that Nokia will support this configuratioin.
Is NG Feature Pack 3 supported on IPSO 4.1 build 016? Thanks.
