I never did R61 but I have had R60 running for a year and went to R62 about a month ago. Well, technically I did have R61 running during the upgrade for one whole reboot.

You don't need to do anything with SNX manually. Once you get logged in on the web portal, the SNX piece will fire up automatically or manually depending on how you have it set and do its thing. "Manually" means you must click the Connect button after you're logged in. I always have it set to go automatically.

It never get to the point of asking for UserName and Password....(same as portal).

You said the portal is working but you never get asked for a login? I think I'm missing something.

Are you using the Integrity Clientless Security scan? That's the only thing that should prevent you from getting to the login page of the portal.

If the Connectra box is behind NAT (on a private address of a DMZ, for example), there is one setting you have to make for SNX. You need to manually enter the public IP address that Connectra uses. If you don't do that, the portal will tell your computer to connect to SNX on its DMZ private address, which kind of doesn't work.

I think R62 is better than R61. R61 defaulted to that slow Java rubbish, which R60 didn't do, and R62 lets you pick. R62 also lets you minimize the ActiveX SNX window automatically to the tray which is very user-friendly. It doesn't auto-minimize on IE 7 but works fine on IE 6.

Subject: [FW-1] Connectra R61 ????
Date: Wed, 15 Nov 2006 04:52:48 -0800

Hello List,
once again, I have another question, this time regarding Connectra R61.
Has anyone successfully deployed this?.
I am running into a problem or just simply (I) do not undertand how Connectra works, Connectra Portal working fine (port 443), Connectra Management works fine (port 4433)
but when I try to use the SSL Network Extender(port 444 , default port),
I get the pop-up windows to accept certificate and then a IE message say that page cannot be displayed. It never get to the point of asking for UserName and Password....(same as portal).
Have I missed something in the configuration?
I have been trying all differents setup with no success, like "Enable SSL NEETWOK Extender mode only" or "auto-detect client capability"
regards
