On which manual did you find instructions saying separate packages need to
be installed? I would like to be completely informed on all this before I
have to deal with it.

I also noted this in the upgrade guide but I have 2 references that contradict this one ... btw this is a new install

Getting Started Guide for R62 Internet Security product Suite
P56. Performing a new installation on a nokia platform:
R62 should be installed on flash-based platforms using individual software packages ... and not from the comprehensive wrapper.

Nokia's NGXR62-GetStartGuide also states on page 20
Flash based platforms download the following:
VPN1 Power UTM R62 for flash based platforms (fw1_R62_xxxxxx_x_IPSO.tgz)
CPinfo tool ...

The only one I seem to be able to find is one for the IP265 specific
