Sorry, I didn't mention the error
Unable to open '/dev/fw0': No such file or directory
Failed to get interface list: No such file or directory
Cannot get interface list: No such file or directory

Some interfaces are certainly not up because my old firewall is up and
running. I decided to install R60 on new hardware in trial licence
mode
and let the interfaces unplugged to avoid conflicts.
Does it possibly be the source of my problems?
I got this error in a .elg log file.
thanks!

Check out you process list, listening ports, etc. as well.
The real pain can be if you disable the buildin (aka: hidden) rules
and
forget to properly setup rules for yourself to access your firewall.
A mismatch in your host table might hurt as well. As will a downed
interface or missing license. (A downed interface may disable licenses
if
they IP adres in them points to the downed interface.)
That pretty much rounds them up I guess.

PS: It might be the spell checking on 'secutity policy' ;-)
