Advantage, no hard drive failures. Disadvantages, no local logging, if your object/rule database is too large you can not install a policy, separate packages for different flash systems with different size memory, limited package support. Basically, a lot of pain. There are hybrid models and add-on pcmcia devices that help with some of these. Since hard drives are prone to fail, and Nokia did not have a good track record for some models, diskless does have some appeal. I am with sin, choose your poison.
