The R62 release notes state that R62 is based on R60-hfa-04, page 2. I
have not seen this in the R61 rn's.

not quite. but checkpint leaks info about what is based on what and you 
can get an almost clear picture of how things are built.

R61 is based on R60+CI part from VPN-1 CI for example.
