I guess the problem is the entire concept of "high availability" means your
system will be able to handle the fall of one equipment without creating a
downtime event, but in terms of Check Point, High Availability means
configuring a cluster to work with one firewall module active and the other
one in standby mode, while Load Sharing means both fw modules active sharing
the load of traffic. That's why you can only select one of them, but in
general, any of the 2 options achieves the concept itself.

Just bare in mind you purchased a Cluster XL license which is basically done
specifically to be able to do Load Sharing (active/standby HA does not
require it), so I guess it would be better to get something out of that
money you spent.
