Hi,
after getting reports to that effect from a customer, I've tried
the same thing here and it leads to the same problem:
1) Install R65
2) Pour into it a VPN-1 personality using upgrade_import
3) Verify everything is well
then
4) Take a local snapshot
and
5) Reboot, choose to revert from snapshot and end up with the operation
failing.
The failing revert says
------------------------------------------------------------------------
-Package is of version "NGX R65", which is incompatible with current version on
machine ""
Revert operation failed
------------------------------------------------------------------------
with the first character (here a "-") beeing an artifact from the |/-\|/-
rotator so it can be any of these characters.
Given that some of us might do regular snapshots but not that often test
whether they play back correctly, this gives me the creeps. Neither Google
nor SecureKnowlegde seems to know anything about it, though. Anyone here?
BTW, I've only verified this with a system that got configured by means
of upgrade_import, so I dunno whether it happens to SPLATs that are
native first installations. But given the fact that almost any SPLAT I
manage has a history of more than one upgrade_export/import (including
severe platform hopping), this seems dangerous enough...
TIA,
Andre.
