Well. I know squat about Oracle. (Except from the headaches you get from passing their traffic through a firewall.) This is an OS setting however. For Linux: See the bountifull online documentation. For example: http://tldp.org/HOWTO/TCP-Keepalive-HOWTO/usingkeepalive.html I guess similar documentation exist for Solaris and Windows.
