Bare in mind your original licenses must be Express/Pro, but as far as your SmartCenter has the same or higher version (R60, R61, R62 or R65) of your new VPN -1 UTM gateway, you won't have any kind of issues as those versions are compatible, the only thing you wont' be able to do is take advantage of the UTM features that were not available with Expres/Pro licenses, such as content filtering.
